Some of the main focus areas of my practice are asset protection and probate avoidance. Administering your estate through the probate court system typically takes 12 – 18 months to accomplish. This long delay in distributing your assets is not only time consuming and aggravating for your heirs, but it’s also a costly legal process. Saving money and aggravation on the probate process is important, but it is not the only reason to consider your estate planning needs.  Many younger clients want to better understand how they can be sure their underage children will be taken care of should both parents pass away suddenly, and everyone can benefit from more advanced strategies to further protect their assets. Another common issue I see is clients that have thorough estate plans which are properly designed and drafted, but are essentially useless because assets have not been properly titled.
